Hello Friends!
I’m writing to you on the 4th of July. Hub is working in his office because his company based in Germany apparently doesn’t celebrate this American holiday.
You may have noticed that I’ve suddenly been missing in action for a few weeks. There are a couple reasons for that.
Our home air conditioning unit broke, and I got so stressed out from it. You see, we were told that the whole unit should just be replaced and the price tag of a new unit was five figures! I was floored! I could not believe a new unit cost that much!
Luckily, we worked through it, got a second opinion and things are up and running smoothly… The fix was a small fraction of what we were originally quoted. Crisis adverted, but that didn’t mean that I didn’t get sick from worry which slowed me down for a week.
Whenever something pops up that is new, I usually have one of two reactions. One is being excited about the challenge, and jumping in head first ready to tackle whatever it is that comes my way. The second is being completely overwhelmed and growing increasingly frustrated as the process goes. This is because I have no idea how to fix the problem at hand. I wish I could say scenario number one is how I’m always like, but sometimes the second situation takes a hold of me, and the downward spiral of frustration ensues. Honestly, I needed a break after that.
It also got into the triple digits temperatures. Me, the gal who grew up shrouded in fog and the dog who wears a fur coat all the time had trouble adjusting. I started to dream about having a pool, even though I am not a good swimmer at all. Ollie started hiding under the bed and next to the air vent under the dining table.
I was told by a friend that the heat waxes and wanes so that’s definitely good news. We are now back in the 80’s and I feel refreshed and ready to go again! This month I’m ready for a couple birthday parties, a baby shower, and an engagement session to shoot!
What are you excited for this month?!
